Job Title: Administrative Assistant—Special Education
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and Office Experience
Reports to: Executive Director of Special Services
Performance Responsibilities:
- Creates a calm and inviting atmosphere in the office.
- Creates and maintains a positive climate for students, staff, and patrons.
- Creates and maintains cooperative relations with students, staff, patrons, and visitors.
- Makes arrangements for conferences/meetings and arranges for visitor comfort.
- Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a productive and smoothly run office.
- Places and receives telephone calls, records messages and delivers message to appropriate personnel.
- Works with District Enrollment Specialist to complete registration of special education students.
- Assists with Coordinating transition of files, both hard copy and electronic versions.
- Maintains confidentiality of all student records.
- Prepares reports/ correspondence regarding special education matters.
- Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed, and put it into a usable form.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot printers and copy equipment.
- Effectively uses computer systems and applications.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
Terms of Employment: Number of calendar days and compensation based on approved compensation schedule and employee work calendars
Evaluation: Evaluation by Executive Director of Special Services in accordance with BOE policy
Physical Demands:
- Normal demands as required by performance responsibilities.
